My BedJet is tripping my circuit breakerUpdated 4 months ago
At most settings, the BedJet uses very little power (a few hundred watts at most). Therefore, it’s unlikely that the breaker is flipping due to power overload. The machine has no trouble maintaining the desired temperature for as long as you like.
Newer construction homes often have special AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) circuit breakers in the bedrooms. These AFCI breakers are designed to detect current leakages and arc/sparking components. However, they can be overly sensitive and may be triggered by completely normal functioning devices that don’t exceed current limits.
The BedJet 3 includes a second power mode specifically designed to avoid the issue you’re experiencing, this is not the standard Low Power mode. This mode doesn’t impact the BedJet’s performance; it simply adjusts the way power is drawn to prevent interference.
Follow these steps to switch your BedJet 3 to this secondary power mode:
- Select “Menu” on the remote
- Select “BedJet Setup”
- Select “Advanced”
- Select “Test Modes”
- On this screen you will perform a series of button presses to make the options appear
- UP, UP, DOWN, LEFT, DOWN, DOWN, SELECT, M1, M2, M3
- On this menu, select “Mode B”
