Do make sure that the installation of the hose is correct with the clamp part holding onto the fabric portion of the hose, not the plastic cuff at the end of the hose.  This is a common installation issue that can shorten you a few inches of height and give you a less stable setup. Please see the below image for reference on proper setup:
